Who We Are

Who We Are

Our Church

Wilton Baptist Church was established over 40 years ago to provide a place of worship with a people of faith. We desire to encourage one another and others to love Jesus Christ.

Our church motto and progression of discipleship is "Worship God, Walk with Others, and Win People to Jesus" taken from Matthew 28:19-20.

The following page tells more about our purpose and beliefs.

Our Purpose

Independent, non-denominational, Baptist churches such as us are self-governing and self-supporting. We are not in any association. The congregation along with the servant-leadership of the pastor, set the direction for this church. The head of our church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. We are a 21st century church with the same doctrine as the 1st century church!

Our purpose is to provide a local, independent church where the Word of God is taught, believed, and practiced.  Our objective is to WORSHIP GOD, WALK WITH OTHERS, AND WIN PEOPLE TO JESUS.

Our Mission

The New Testament Gospel of Matthew (Verses 28:18-20) teach:  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.   Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

We endeavor to fulfill our divine purpose through:

Worship God

A person can truly worship God, once they know Him, beginning a personal relationship through the Person of Jesus Christ, in salvation.  Being "born again" or "saved" is the start of the Christian life.  Sunday morning church services are designed, not only to encourage and edify the Christian, but also to introduce people to Jesus and His gift of salvation.  We invite you to worship God with us!

Walk with Others

Fellowship and discipleship are vital parts of the Christian life. We do not live life alone.  God has given us a church fellowship with family and friends.  Walking with others includes participating in church life, supporting the ministry and continuing to learn and grow in Bible knowledge.  We invite you to walk through life with other Christians.  Our intergenerational Scatter Groups and our AWANA program for kids and youth are part of our discipleship walk with others.

Win to Jesus

Finding ways to serve others is how we "win people to Jesus."  Talking with others about Jesus, sharing a gospel tract, inviting to church, teaching a class, hosting a "Scatter Group," providing a meal for someone, and supporting Gospel missionaries are just several of many ways we win.  We invite each church member to discover their "Spiritual Gift" and to use it in serving God and others.

Please know that each of these objectives are found in the theme text of Matthew 28:18-20.  Together, we can "Worship, Walk, and Win" for the glory of Jesus Christ, our Lord!
